The shortest month of the year has just begun and Google is rolling out a new batch of security updates. The February 2019 Android security patches include the usual bevy of fixes along with some specific fixes for Pixel devices. The update is rolling out now for the Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, and Essential Phone.
The update includes five notable fixes for Pixel 4 devices, as seen in the chart below. Two of the fixes are related to the camera, and the device also has System, NFC, and Google Assistant fixes. The two camera fixes are sure to be welcome to anyone who has experienced those issues.
As usual, Essential is not far behind with the update on the Essential Phone. This isn’t the biggest monthly update we’ve seen since Google switched to the new method of listing improvements, but it does have some nice fixes. People across the internet have been reporting that this update is rolling out very quickly as many people already have it. Check your Pixel update to install the latest Android security patches.
