At the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked launch event early next month, Samsung is expected to unveil 5 new devices. Even though the company hasn’t revealed exactly which devices will be launched at the event, recent leaks and rumors suggest that Samsung will, most likely, launch the Galaxy Note 20 series at the event. As part of the series, the company is expected to launch two devices — the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra — which we’ve already seen in several leaks over the last few weeks. Thanks to the leaks, we’ve already got a good look at the design of the upcoming devices. And now, we finally have some interesting details about the hardware specifications of the flagship Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
Renowned leakster Roland Quandt (@rqandt) has managed to procure official marketing material for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which highlights key details about the upcoming flagship. As per a recent post on WinFuture, the marketing material reveals that the device will feature a revised 108MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and 0.8micron sensor pixels. While the sensor is expected to include dual-pixel autofocus technology, Samsung has added a dedicated laser-autofocus module on the device for even faster focusing.
Additionally, the device will feature two 12MP sensors on the back, one of which features a periscope lens with 5x optical zoom with f/3.0 aperture and 1.0micron pixels. The remaining 12MP module features an ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture and 1.4micron pixel size. Over on the front, the device will feature a 10MP sensor with dual-pixel autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, and 1.22micron pixel size. The report further reveals that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will opt for 50x space zoom, instead of the 100x space zoom found on the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Along with information about the cameras on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the report reveals that the device will feature a 6.9-inch QHD dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels and 19.3:9 aspect ratio. As previous rumors suggested, the device will feature a 120Hz high refresh rate panel with dynamic control to automatically adjust the refresh rate depending on what you’re doing on the device. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will also be the first device to feature Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7.
The report further adds that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will feature a “Real Feel” S Pen with a latency of just 9ms to make writing or drawing as realistic as possible, it will be the first smartphone with Microsoft xCloud optimizations and Xbox Game Pass for a better cloud gaming experience, and that it will feature support for the new Wireless-DeX mode. Additional details include a USB 3.2 Type-C port, NFC support, Bluetooth 5.x, WiFi 6, and dual GPS support. The device will also pack in AKG-optimized speakers and it will feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
As far as the chipset is concerned, Samsung will ship the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with its own flagship Exynos 990 SoC and the company won’t switch to a Snapdragon chip for the European region. The SoC will be accompanied by 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The device will include a slightly larger 4,500mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging support. And lastly, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will include a dual SIM card tray with eSIM support.
